Pinkie Pie probably makes good cupcakes. So far she's only screwed up when other people have helped her. Namely, Applebloom and Applejack.
Her job at Sugarcube Corner involves baking, we know that for a fact since she had to bake during Applebuck Season and Call of the Cutie. Presumably she would be at least competent so long as people aren't adding cups of sour to her recipes. Otherwise she'd probably have been fired by now.
Applejack can also bake when she's not horribly sleep-deprived.

Not to mention that in the little flash game on their website (http://www.hubworld.com/my-little-pony/shows/friendship-is-magic/games/mlp-adventures-in-ponyville) you help Pinkie Pie package treats that she cooks up for delivery. During the course of the game you also have to feed her sugary treats constantly (well you don't HAVE to) for friendship sparkles. It's no wonder then that she is so hyper!
There's a new series by the same person who did Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. My little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
And it's AWESOME. The animation is super-smooth and expressive, the art style is high quality, and the writing is very character focused and has them all play off of each other.
So yeah, everyone is into it. This in particular is a reference to the newest episode. Applebloom here spends the whole thing trying to find her special talent... And then Pinkie Pie comes around and says 'You look like you'ld be good at eating cupcakes!'
