'You decide to get off the elevator at first opportunity. You leave without incident. You come upon a large hall bisected by a pool that looks almost waist deep. Shallow halls to the left and right are blocked by locked gates.
The control station seems to be for the bridge, but it doesn't respond to your inputs. Your only choice is to get into the water to cross.'

THEY PUT NANITES IN THE WATER, WALTUH! IT’S TURNING THE RENAMONS GAY!
That said, there’s no way around it. We have to go through the water somehow, and whether that’s at the surface or below it will be troubling to figure out.
One thing I’m noticing is the blue grate above the pool. Judging by the pool’s design, swimming under would let us avoid that rather suspicious gas wafting out of the blue grate above the pool. Gasses and liquids don’t tend to mix, and that gas does God-knows-what if we inhale it, so avoiding it might be for the better. From the Renamon incident with a pool similar to this, wading through had theoretically about the same effect as swimming under the water (conversion), so perhaps taking to a full swim instead of an awkward wade might get us to the other side sooner, if the water does in fact happen to be contaminated with BCS.
Vote B.

We’ll just ask Jingle to share some of hers.
Either that or this universe appears to adhere to video game logic and nobody here needs to consume food or water to survive.
Plus, Cassandra’s only been here a couple of hours since waking up. She’s probably not even in need of sustenance yet.
