I do like this new one better than the old one, I feel it displays a better sense of depth and volume compared to the old one, which is more flat, and I think this level of dimensionality looks better with the amount of detail you like to put into your art
I actually think both styles are good, however if you want to use the old one, maybe that style should be simplified/have less details because of the flat, graphic quality.
