Did more research on carving and scrimshaw and came to discover that a dremel tool and some diamond burr bits are an alternative to expensive air turbine carvers. OMG do these things make my life a hell of a lot easier! One, because I'm poor and cheap to boot, two, it's a lot easier than using a knife!!

Note: I'm not sure this is quite the same as scrimshaw since with that technique you apply ink into the etch marks. This is the opposite. So I don't know how to classify this O__o;
