Oh boy do we ever need more label art

So, just like our previous Con*Tact Con*Test, we need a lot of new label artwork. We've decided to redo all of our labels with awesome art from the community, and are offering a free 6-pack of our soap to the winners. We'll have this flyer up at our FC table, but I figured I'd give FA the first heads up about it.

Lots of different art needed for lots of different scents, so hopefully there's something for everyone in there.

Previous winners are eligible to win again! The other fine print:

If you win, you're giving Con*Tact the rights to reproduce the image on our product labels for sales, and we retain the rights to use the image any way we see fit for promotional materials (using it on flyers, our website, etc). We will link your gallery on the catalog page, and will fully credit you with creation of the design.

This Con*Test is open to US and Canadian residents only due to shipping restrictions.

So basically people are free to draw art for whichever scent they want, or are you choosing someone to do art for all of them? If not, then how many illustrations is everyone allowed to win? XD I think I would like to try my hand at this!

Draw whatever/whichever inspires you! People can win multiple times, but ultimately the submissions will be judged on their appropriateness for the particular scent, and how well the artwork will translate into a label/sticker.

As long as the colors are clean, traditional or digital are fine.
And the image has the deadline on it, 2/10/11. :3

Curious, are we allowed to use pre-exsisting personal characters for this, or would you rather a more generic?
Secondly, are we allowed to try for more than one?

You can use pre-existing characters for this, but in the end, we'll be using it on our for-sale products, and many people aren't comfortable with other folks making money off of their characters.

All of them are open! We've gotten submissions for Creamsicle, Stormy Night, and Absinthe so far, although they're not automatically winners on merit of simply being the first one submitted.

I appreciate that, though I wouldn't want to compete with another entry when there might be one that's gone undone, y'know?

A running list of labels with the number of submissions next to each would be useful for folks similarly minded.

Sure there will be those who want to compete for a certain specific slot, but there are those of us who first want to help complete the set with something before considering competition and so a list like that in the desc would help.

Ahh too bad :/ I'd love to join the contest but I live in Europe.
Two ideas: If I win anything I could send you some money to cover the shipping (though I'd have to know how much that roughly would be), or I could have it shipped to Florida or FWA, since I'm going to be there in Feb/March.

Which country in EU? The reason we don't ship out there is because of different regulations covering cosmetics/body products (the UK has some really strict ones!) and we're a bit worried about being pegged as a company for shipping out there. However! We might actually be at FWA, so that might be something we could arrange, if needed.

I'm in the Netherlands. The customs here kind of suck, but that only happens if you label the package as expensive (100 dollar or so). I can't imagine sending a bunch of gift soaps will give any problems.

If you're at FWA, that would be great! I really want to smell some of those soaps, haha.
