For generations, the La'Mér clan, one of the largest dragon clans of the Occidental Ocean, have been good friends with the Emberlance family. Using their extensive connections to source the rarest and most high quality ingredients in the sea for the FDA. So when it was decided by the head Emberlance to send the spoiled and lazy Prince Saraid off to Cowshoof for education and discipline they looked to the La'Mérs for a retainer to go with him and keep the hedonistic prince in check. Azzo, eldest son of Thalas La'Mér and next in line to lead the clan, was chosen since he and the prince have been acquainted with each other since they were hatchlings. Understanding his responsibilities as future head of the clan, he took it upon himself to study from a young age and his brilliance is only matched by his diligence, though many have noted he could certainly stand to loosen up a little. Ordinarily, such stunning intellect and bookish nature would make him a prime candidate for the Auroscale House, but due to his duties as a retainer he finds himself sharing a room (which was previously two rooms before someone used his nobility to convince the staff into merging them with magic) in Beeftail with his charge, Saraid. Along with all the other brutish meatheads in that house. To make matters worse, Saraid continuously throws his weight around (both figuratively and literally) to get coerce Azzo into doing nearly all of his schoolwork for him while he lays around goofing off and stuffing himself with conjurated junk food. The stupid sexy ogre. Unfortunately, all of this leaves the poor sea dragon in a near constant state of stress and grouchiness that doesn't seem to dissipate until he can get some time alone in the baths late at night.

While he's incredibly gifted intellectually, his natural magical aptitude leaves much to be desired. Which is why he enjoys spending his time studying the lore of the world. His favorite subject being runes and relics left behind by The Old Ones long before anyone can remember. Which is how he became interested in the art of inscription, using ancient runes and symbols of power to imbue items with magical properties.

Once again I'm using my authorial powers to exhume yet another 10+ year old character from his grave because what is a fat spoiled prince without a scrawny little servant (that tooooootally doesn't have a crush he's repressing) to boss around?

And honestly, I just really like this design. It was a lot of fun designing his little coral wand.

I think this is the last character I'll give the time warp treatment and the rest of them can stay in their tombs where they belong.
