"Take these forms please, you can fill it in over there... oh and a pen.", the words were as rehearsed and disinterest as you'd expect from a customs official, except in this case what was actually being declared and registered was the species of the travellers. The black-scaled Charmeleon gave a nod with his chipper smile still on his snout and headed for the appointed area. This was one of the check-in areas at the docks of Refuge island, where the Pokemorphs were basically being restricted to. No one had any real grasp of how many were out there and drip by drip they would be found, or hand themselves in to be shipped here, in Gojinkas case it was all voluntary though thanks to his family he'd scarpered from the island a few years ago. His big bro Reiko had said that seeing some of the world would be good for him and not something every morph could try.
It was also the place any morphs who were sent out into the world would be checked through. Usually only one or two that would spend a few weeks at various labs, get some blood-tests, fitness examinations, lot of that stuff was able to be done on the island too and the research staff paid a nice bit of money for it. But the off-island jaunts were something of a public relations stunt to show how they cared about this sentient life seperate from humans, while still keeping them consolidated in the majority in one spot. Gojinka, well he'd just been faffing around around snippets of the globe to be fair, Reiko had given him a small check-list of places he should try for and good times of the year for it to happen... he hadn't been disappointed. The young Charmeleon-morph let out a quiet 'ah' on realising he'd been drifting off, thinking about the Emporer Beautifly migration he'd seen in North America, millions of them taking flight.. it had resulted in though ticking the male box, crossing the female box and drawing a smiley face in the Other box on the gender segment.
Head low and claws fidgeting at his pockets he managed to get out quietly and politely that he'd need a new form and resumed filling it in....
First Name: Gojinka
Surname (If Applicable): Valour
Species: Charmeleon
Age: 16
He paid enough attention to get the gender correct this time and let his eyes fall through the various questions that really went beyond the pale in some respects. Some were a touch too personal as well, mouthing along to several of them as he read, bad habit that he hadn't quite knocked on the head yet.
'Have you had sexual relations in the past six months, if yes was it Morph, Human or Pokemon...', well he had to tick no anyway, but seriously?... Baby blues scanning lower on the page, lot of nos he got to tick in here...
'Has your nutrition been obtained through scavenging refuse?'
'Did you cross international waters and through what method?'
'Have you taken any narcotics, those that effect humans or Pokemon?'
'Have you come into contact with the spores of the following Pokemon...'
"That's a pretty long list... still, no.", scratch of the cheap little biro upon paper, the lack of give in the page reminding him there were several more of these underneath and it looked like his triumphant return to island and siblings would be held off by potentially an hour or so, maybe worse if he started doodling in the margin. More nos, a few yess that he was admittedly hesitant to give details on but they'd be wanting them. Reiko had at least given him a nice cover story in case they found out later he had a registered citizen file already but with any luck the red-tape would take so long to work that out they'd think it not worth the effort.
But for all the checks and security on this side.... can't just use a metal detector when dealing with Steel-types after all, its gotta be full strip and X-ray... it was still a bit easier to deal with than the initial checks and examinations on the mainland. Not only body details taken down, including one of their favourites, a blood-test, along with a swab and they even made him do several fire-breath tests, it was very odd. But the most taxing were the Psyche profiles, majority of the created morphs, those who were originally pokemon suffered more than a hint of trauma at suddenly being fully aware and having thumbs. Plus the treatment from Transgene and then the terrorist groups they were then sold off to and trained by. Not to mention that morphs had just as much variance in mental stability and health as humans... but there was a tad more at stake if they couldn't control themselves. So it helped to be thorough before putting them on a boat.
Gojinka himself had gotten out pretty unscatched, he still saw some things no kid should but, well he had family on hitting the island and that went a long way. Besides he personally saw no point in being doom and gloom over things that were done and dusted, he had a good life now, well, one that he'd need to get back into. Had to suppose that it would be odd to be excited to get to go to school, but he was eager to expand his mind, he'd already done that with his horizons but it was time to put knowledge in there too and hopefully form into a better person for it.
Few more ticks, nos, vague details on the yes and then handed in the form with a wide smile to the official who just narrowed their eyes at this strangely happy critter. "What's that on your nose kid?"
Claws came up to touch at the front, looking at the shaking head of the official, higher then?... patting along the large red splotch-stripe over his snout. Quiet little chuckle and a flush of embarassment sinking the Charmeleon-morphs shoulders, "Tattoo... So can I get going now please?".
"Hang on...", the official began to painstakingly pore through each page to make sure it was all filled out and neatly done so. Gojinka shifting from one foot to the next, his sandals clapping flat upon the linolium, leaning forward a touch, head turning to glimpse at the heavy security doors... the heavy-set security guards, quite heavily armed ones and then, just past there the luggage carousel... then another security check-point as they examined what few things he had and then finally... some more forms to fill out and then freedom. Humans did love their paperwork.
