It took a few days and discussion that went one while Tori was settling in the large apartment of her uncle. Tori had finally fixed her mane for the day, and looked over the parchments she kept in her suit case. All of them were for a glamour spell to help her hide, but none of them were going to be used while she was at this place. Tori and the others were suppose to be safe here, in Seattle, the worst that happened that was recent was a woman being killed in a mugging. As comforting as it was, as well promised as it was to be a safe haven while there, there still was what she was told before when coming into this place. Until Matthew was found, she had to stay here for her safety. Tori would sit around most of the days she was there, sometimes she'd look out on the balcony, or she'd look to the door as if waiting for someone.
A day came without rain and a knock was heard at the door, Tori ran for the door and checked through the keyhole. She gasped at the sight and flung the door open. "What took you so long?" She said with a smile, "Got lost on the way with the police?"
"Don't you mind it too much, Tori." Kari said walking in, but then walked past Tori, taking off her glamour toward the balcony.
"It was my fault," Sera said as she held a suit case of luggage in each of her four arm. "My parents wanted me to take everything needed while I was staying here." She set done bag down by the door and looked around the place, "You uncle has a lovely home, so where would you like me to stay?"
"Do you need your own room too?" Tori asked, looking over the suit cases, "It seems like you parents wanted you to move in or something. The most guests are getting is air mattresses."
"Yeah," Sera said and put the bags down by one of the open air mattresses, "My parents spare no expense, ever. We live luxurious lives all the time." And she shrugged nervously."
"Alright, just be sure not to take up too much space." Tori sighed and looked back out into the hall, "Did you girls see Jake by any chance?"
"Nope," Sera said, "Well, I didn't at least." She looked toward the balcony where Kari had her wings partly spread as she looked over the railing, "She's been that way for a few days."
"Can anyone blame her?" Tori said, "It'd be horrible to do that, what with what's happened." Then she looked away, "She's gonna have to get over it though. What's done is done."
"Tori, this is not something you can just get over like that." Sera said, "She really liked him, and she tried to hard to help him."
"We all did," Tori said, "And we failed. What happens next is out of our hands while we're in protective custody."
Another knock was at the door, and Tori answered, "Hey ladies." Jake said, waving his hand as the eye in the palm scanned the room, "Kari still being quiet."
"Yeah," Tori said, stepping aside as Jake walked in, "Was there a particular reason that you wanted us all here?"
"Just one, really," Jake said, his tone turning somber, "As I said before, This is just so we could stay together a bit longer, stay friends, you know?"
Tori smiled at him a big and then hugged, "You got a good heart." She whispered in his ear, then she backed away from him, looking to his glasses. "You think you could give Kari some cheer too?"
"No promises." Jake said, smiling a little, "But I'll give it a shot." And he walked over to Kari.
Tori watched, for a while, then she sighed and looked away, "What's done is done."
