Concerto for Soprano Saxophone: III. Metal (Mackey)
The third movement of the Soprano Saxophone concerto by John Mackey, it is a softer and slower movement than the first. If you are wondering where the second movement is, we never recorded it, at this particular performance we did not play it and it was the only recorded performance.
In this movement I am on the vibraphone. This part involves both playing with the mallets as is normal, but also occasionally bowing the keys to create a shimmery metalic sound.
