“W-what are you? What’re you doing in this thing?” Axel asked, still bewildered.
“Oh, where are my manners, Zenny Phox, also known as, the Little Magician,” Zenny said as he tipped his white top hat down and bowed his head. “And the answer to your latter, well,” he floated and stood on top of his orange orb without weighing anything. “It’s quite a long story.”
“You can’t hide from me you brat!” The sabretooth growled as he fired an enchanted fire arrow to try and pierce the water. It succeeded but just barely missed Axel’s cheek. Axel snapped back to reality and looked over through the water.
“So, he a friend of yours Mister…?” Zenny fished as Axel shook his head.
“No way is he, my friend. He stole and sold all my stuff then tried to shackle me as a slave,” Axel replied back quickly.
“Ohhhh, a bad guy hmm?” Zenny looked over at the Sabretooth who was prepared to fire 2 more arrows. “My, what big fangs you have,” Zenny waved to the menacing marauder leader.
“I don’t know who your friend is, but you’re both coming back with me one way or another,” the leader growled.
“Can’t you do something about him?” Axel asked.
“I could, but I didn’t quite catch your name yet. Plus, there’s a number of ways to handle him so I’m not sure what your comfort level is, plus…”
Annoyed by the fox’s ranting, the arrows glowed and fired at them. Once impacted with the water, it exploded, causing the sabretooth to grin widely. “I don’t need talkative slaves.”
“My, how rude,” Zenny said as he stood in front of Axel as the smoke cleared. Axel flinched with his face covered but saw he was unharmed. Zenny dusted himself off and took off his hat. “This is a fancy white suit, now it’s dirty and wet.” He rung his hat out and flicked it, so it popped back to normal.
Both cats were speechless for a moment then the sabretooth equipped his sword instead. “I’ll kill you both and skin your hides next,” he responded and charged at the strange fox.
“Gonna need that for a second,” Zenny said to Axel, looking at the orange orb his tail that was still attached to. Axel blinked and let it go as Zenny flicked his tail up, detached the orange orb, and sent it flying into his hand.
Just as the sword was about to slice him, the orb extruded a stick from inside and became a walking cane for Zenny. Zenny grabbed the new walking cane, parried the sword with ease, and thrust the orb tip into the cat’s gut. The cat got the wind knocked out of him, getting sent into the tree behind him. Zenny twirled his new cane and smiled.
“You’re going to reimburse me for dirtying up my clothes,” Zenny said as he looked over at Axel. “Permission to go with an idea I have?” He asked.
“W-what? Uh… Sure?” Axel said, not sure what the fox had in mind but happy for the help.
