Ground Zero (Zodori's theme) [trade]
Part of an art trade with
(which was, btw, my first art trade ever! xDDD). She had asked me to make a badass theme tune for her fursona in exchange for a pic. I asked her to draw me being submissive to Charizard ^///^ pic here. x///D

thank you. I used Impact Soundworks Shreddage (for Kontakt) for rhythmic guitars, I could have used it for solos but I would have had to raise the pitch and I was afraid it didn't sound as realistic... Drums are Addictive Drums, but I personally recommend ToonTrack EzDrummer with MetalHeads and Drumkit from Hell expansions. They're not as complete as for what you can set up in the kits, but they sound a lot more metally. Addictive's more appropriate for Jazz, 80's rock and all that stuff...
Keybs are PoiZone, Sytrus and Korg MS-20 (solo), and the guitar solo close to the end is Suburban Guitarist. It's still noticeable that it's not real... Dx Bass is Morphine. That could have also sounded a bit better >w>
I used built-in effects mostly, but guitar amps, I used Amplitube2. Either that one or AmplitubeMetal (Amplitube3 or GuitarRig 4 if you have a better machine) are the best. There's also that... StudioDevil Guitar Amp, but it's rather cheap and it's pretty hard to get a good distortion with that. =3

Thanks a bunch for that detailed and valuable information. will be surely helpful for me.
The whole mix sounded really pleasant and realistic. Just the solos sounded a bit artificial to me, mostly because they were just too perfect I guess^^
As for guitars I prefer to keep it real and play with my Ibanez guitars. I started to learn guitar just a bit over a year ago. Back the I set my compositions to music with the Guitar Pro engine as my guitar skills were quite at the beginning. For the future I plan to reduce it to the role of just a composition tool and just write what I can actually play, or try to learn to play them in future.
I didn't not yet buy any of those more expensive programs like Guitar Rig or Kontakt. I guess when it comes to Drums I will sooner or later aquire Kontakt + one of these Drum-sequencers.
My repertoire of sounds is so far more hardware-oriented. My latest aquisition is the Boss eBand, which is, roughly speaking, a very light version of Guitar Rig in a box with little stereo speakers^^. It has various amp-mic-simulations, effect chains, equalizer and a noise gate and lots of other features. I'm quite happy with it cuz it also works with my recording programs via ASIO.
As for the drums I have a Zoom RT-323 Drummachine which has a multitude of Drumkits along with about 50 nice bass-samples. I lately tried to connect it cia MIDI with my PC to use of the sounds of it, but I didn't have any success so far. I'll try to get the matching cable to connect it directy with my USB-Preamp next week
Well, and not to forget about my first guitar amp, which is a Crate Palomino V8 Tube amp with 5 Watts (don't you dare to laugh^^) and of course my Dunlop CryBaby Wah with an integrated adjustable Q-Filter.
I also was lately introduced to the Logic sampler EXS24 but I literally have no expierience with it. I just didn't find enough time to experiment with it... neither do I have a keyboard atm, but very soon I will. =3
btw. I meantioned that I play guitar and key, but I also play some bass, accordion and flute. Not sure if it's woth to mention, cuz' i suck with those. :/

I used FL Studio as a sequencer
Guitar: Impact Soundworks Shreddage for Kontakt
Guitar amp: AmpliTube 2 / AmpliTube Metal
Keybs: built-in Sytrus, KORG Legacy (I don't remember if it was Analog or Digital) Edition
Crappy guitar solo at the end: Suburban Guitarist, also amped with AmpliTube
Piano: 4Front TruePianos
Bass: ugh. I used built-in IL Morphine.
Drums: Addictive Drums + Drumkit From Hell expansion for EzDrummer
Yet.... the ones I mostly use now are:
Guitar: Impact Soundworks Shreddage for Kontakt
Guitar amp: AmpliTube 2 / AmpliTube Metal
Keybs: LOTS of them, I randomly use anything I just find amusing
Piano: 4Front TruePianos, Galaxy Vintage D for Kontakt
Drums: Metalheads expansion for EzDrummer (the best I've used so far, away from controlling cymbals and hihats, in that sense Addictive Drums keeps being better)
Bass: simple. I mostly use 4Front Bass Module. Crappy but I still love the sound.
