This is a rigged question with a rigged answer. Apples are semi-spherical and because of the nature of a circle, you will never have a perfect third without wedges. The answer is, in fact, murder.

Then just stack the apples on top of each other and kinda just curve the knife when you cut into both apples to make a wedge without needing to make a second cut. You'll need to be hella strong though lol

Very slowly bring the knife down toward the table from overhead in a consistent arc. While the knife is moving, have other push apples against the knife to cut into halves, then repeat to cut the halves into sixths. Each person gets four roughly equal pieces, and the knife eventually reaches the table.

Cutting the apples by volume into 33/67 pieces is probably what they want, but from a plating/serving standpoint, that is not equal sharing. The correct answers are to expand the length of the stroke, or murder.

Ah, but the riddle says one stroke of the knife. Plus what I meant was thin slices, like a mandoline slicer. The blade stays in place, no motion, other than the upward motion (one stroke)
