2022 Summary of Art
It's been a long journey, the first year of me working on commissions as a full time job! This year I've produced more than 60 pieces, I've never painted so much in a year before. I've been struggling to find my style in the past few months, something feels off, something feels lost after so many paintings so I'll try to find myself again this year. The commissions are getting out of hand, I feel more like an AI that paints whatever the commissioner wants rather than the commissioner asks something in MY style, in MY way what really upsets me nowadays. Looking at my older paintings, it feels like I'm losing something month by month, that my work is getting worse so this year, after I finish all my commissions from the current waiting list, I will change things up, so I can make my gallery look like mine again.
This year was an experiment which has succeeded on one part but failed on the other. I will keep trying to make commissions suitable for everyone however now I will keep my own tase in mind as well. Regular commissions won't disappear but there will be options to allow me to fully enjoy a piece, without any distraction from the commissioner's side. More details on this after I finish my current working list.
I didn't want this to become a complainment over all, I am super thankful for you all to choose to support me this year and the years that will come, thank you so much for everyone who stopped by to check my gallery, to comment, fave or commission me! I get to see how smaller artists start to learn from me or admire my work, artist gods start to watch me , people say amazing things about my artwork among each other, this feels so incredile, I never though in any way that I will be noticed by my own idols nor to become one for someone else.. thank you guys for everything you gave me this year!
I wish everyone a great new year, full of joy and successes, have little to no problems or at least have them solved as quickly as possible!

As the saying goes: "You are your own worst critic". We all love your work and you fully deserve to be where you are right now :)

Though if I may ask: As commissioners it usually isn't easy to tell, but what do you think makes your style YOUR style? Do you have specific criteria, or examples to show? We cannot see what you see - but if you give us insight and help us see what *you* see as your style, it might be a lot easier to approach you and ask you for it :D
After all, the best commissions are the ones that both Commissioner and Artist fully enjoy ^.^

As for your question, for my gallery it's not easy because there are way more commissions than personal artwork, so I can only show you example of other artists. Proabbly Reykat is the best example,
REYKATHelga you can easily tell that what is she specialized on, muted colors, more artistic aproach meanwhile there is 
k_dromka who has more colorful art but with only browns, blues and greens. You can look at their gallery as a whole, not being a rainbow or too different from each other not a single piece stands out individually. It's best if you look at an artist's personal art and you can kind of tell what their style is.

The balance between taking commission to pay the bills and finding the time to do things for yourself is really delicate. So you may have found yourself forced to subconciously streamline your artstyle in order to deliver incredible artworks for all customers and avoid backlog order pilling up.
Commissioners may request specific pose or theme of a picture tho one doesn't control in what style the picture was made. Also, people can come up with only so many original ideas or poses, unfortunately. (I tried commission one artist twice but I wasn't chosen because the pose wasn't interesting enough probably)
Perhaps you'd need find time to draw something just for fun to regain faith in your own skills. Tho, as artists we are the best/worse critics of our own work which can be a hole hard to get out.

Im glad you are acknowledging how you feel about taking on so much work before it gets too out of hand! too many ppl struggle from burn out to the point they dont want to draw anymore. Im so glad you are catching yourself and plan to regain sight of yourself and your work!

Thank you so much, yes, I've heard many cases of this and I really don't want to fall into the same trap. I hope this gets changed with the next opening, I hope you don't experience this at all or if you do then it gets resolved as well ^^

Thankfully Im not experiencing the same burn out yet I dont think, though the amount of personal artwork I did was barely nothing x.x So Im going to try to switch it up with different commission types, maybe do some sketches in stream and more adopts and YCHs! Theres more to do that just fully illustrated drawings!

Your work has been a great inspiration and a level to achieve *someday-maybe* for me for many years. I'm glad too see you posting piece after piece, and each next one is more advanced than previous. I understand that struggle to find your own style (I'm still in the middle of this) and to not disappoint a commissioner, but it's still a bit surprising to hear it from a pro :DD
Anyway, I wish you all the best in the new 2023 year, a ton of energy and inspiration in particular. Waiting for new masterpieces to come!
