Specter: "Yeah Pink's fun when she's mad."
Everytime I think of a scenario for my fic I have to cope with the two wolves inside of me; One wants to use it as a normal or serious story event.... the other wants to make it into a bad smut scene all like "Oh noes! I can't take off this skimpy outfit! Whoever shall help get me out of these clothes~?"
(The incident Specter doesn't want to talk about is when he gave Spike his helmet and was a bit too embarrasingly effectionate during the Stupid in Space scenario

at that point I would probably would have put on makeup to match and just accept I will have it on for a while lol
I feel like said clothes would behave the same way since it might be really hard to program/magic weave specific stuff like "if [not wearer] takes off clothes clothes will [not] combust = y" (vs, the easier "clothes taken off combust = y") since ya gotta consider the logic of how this could be identified. Though, maybe a magic word/password could fix this :3
don't mind me, just musing over how this could work lol
side note: those clothes would unironically be very useful in subzero situations. With some extra core, arm, and leg cover you could theoretically use the heating up properties to keep the body warm enough. maybe if you quickly cover and uncover them it would be more bearable. This would be way less dangerous in a situations like deep diving in the arctic ocean since hot water needs to be cycled in diving gear to keep the divers from freezing to death. These garments would be instant warmth in that case.

Coincidentally there are two missing panels not seen here (moved them to another file that would be labeled [project nanners 20.1] cuz the canvas was getting long)
One where Specter is handling the skirt of the fabric and explains that the fabrics intention was a self heat regulating light weight arctic wear, but it didn't get far into development because Pink was assigned to it and tends to procrastinate, and 6 months prior to the story starting the Freaky Monkey 5 go missing so development of it wasn't high on Specters list so the only known sample was an incredibly "glitchy" proof of concept sample which is what Spike is wearing.
The other missing panel is Specter upskirting Spike and commenting that the undies are briefs/panty style cut so he should still be able to use the bathroom without taking them off in theory

that never occurred to me. Yeah, being able to use the bathroom would be a big issue if you could not remove it. I do wonder what him being shocked does to his brain and heart (both organs that can be negatively affected by electricity. In some cases, being zapped can actually stop your heart if not already mess with it. I've heard of people who survived lightning strikes develop mental health issues).
Ya know, a solution could be having Spike go into the air and remaining airborne as he removes it. This way, the electricity has nowhere to go as he swaps clothing. You need to be grounded to be shocked (this is why birds can sit on the lines connected to transformers without dying). The only issues I could think of is accidentally dropping something or struggling a little with garments.

Getting him up in the air could probably get it off of him, but as it's played for a joke it's probably not enough voltage to hurt him to bad, just comically enough to keep it on him, as it's more of a dog shaming sign than anything else. With the right gloves and working fast Specter could probably just get a few apes to strip him fast, or just order Pink to disable it, but Spike gotta have his "I was made to wear this because I did something to upset her so I have to grin and bear it while fixing what I did" moment so he looks more virtuous.
... though having Specter demand she disable it could be used as a "Oh look now your having the boss fight your battles for you, you asshole!" Moment from Pink motivating Spike to personally fix things with her... hmmmmmmm... adding that into the idea bin...

We must have the same sense of humor then because I think that would be a hilarious visual gag!
That's one of the sad things about writing vs arting story telling; it's hard to WRITE a visual gag that hits like it's suppossed to because it's VISUAL, but ARTING takes much longer to tell the story visually than WRITING does!

Specter: quit being a big baby! Take this coat and stop complaining!
Spike: but Specter-
Specter: *grumbling* fine, I'll cover you myself *covers Spike with the coat
Spike, now on fire: eeeaaaaaaiiiihhhhhhhhh!!!!
Specter: *oh shit what have I done??*
Pink, watching in the background: heh, idiots.
