This is when we went to North Carolina for the Furst Friday meet with Wally Wolf, Digeri Dingo, HugeWolf, Furio, Zabercat, Kaltazar, and a few others that randomly showed up. It was such a fun weekend, chock full of random on-location fursuiting.
Here we are standing at the top of Mount Pilot, an area that is neighboring the well-known giant rock that sticks out the top. We entertained the kids and parents alike. I'm sure that many of them forgot that they ventured up there to see the view! LOL

Hi Tartan,
Digeri forwarded me your comment to this posting. Alamance county... is that where Conservators Center Inc. (or CCI) is located? I have been to the facility twice, and am impressed.
The meets that Tigress was talking about is something we periodically commit to during the weekend of the month that has a first Friday in it. Since 2007, we learned about the "Gallery Hops" that take place in the Arts District in Winston-Salem. We use this evening to meet up for dinner and then romp around the Arts District. Since I build my costumes, I considering showing off my "art". I am thankful we are received well there.
What started out as a Friday night event generally turned into a weekend event. Depending on ideas the group has, we would pretty much pack up the weekend. We would also plan for months that we would expect to have reasonable attendence. For example, summer months tend to have good attedence, but can be hot in costume. March and December would be good months with it being relatively cool in costume with reasonable attendence.
For the first Friday in February, Violet in our group suggested visiting "W H A T - T H E - H E L L ‽ C O N 2 0 1 1" taking place at Guilford College. The link to the program is given below.

I am told that characters will be allowed to attend. There is also a dance scheduled that evening. If this sounds of interest, instead of replying to this posting but please Compose a note to me. This so that we do not leave a huge thread going back 'n forth on this posting.
For further reference, we have a LiveJournal group called "furst_friday" where it gives a forum to suggest ideas, give reminders and meeting times. It is not intended to be a high-traffic message board.
I hope this helps. The photo above took place in May 2010. It was the "debut" weekend for Corn Husky. Fortunately, I did not need to do too much adjustments on the costume.
In fact, we would not mind going back to Pilot Mountain. There may be an event in May near Mothers Day weekend in that area.
Cheers,
---> Wally
