it seems like a good start for your first time with watercolor. Either the perspective feels a little off, or the shoulders might just be too small and makes the face seem a little large in some spots (like the nose) -- UNLESS that's the stylistic approach you're shooting for :P
Hmm...also, the red brush stroke along the left side of the face is very "blocky" looking at the top as well. Hope this helps!

Wow this is really good for doing watercolors for the first time. I personally love water colors but haven't had the chances to do one often. Maybe you should try to add more depth, like with the eyes, nose, chin. And try to go back with the brush with only water, no color, and try to wipe up some color for highlights. I've never really critiqued so I hope I helped! ^^
