A Reference sheet I commissioned from
Dark_Persian and sweet Arceus above I can scarcely believe how awesome this. She went above and beyond on this reference sheet and I thank her deeply for all the work and toil she put into it.
Calcifer's a warrior at-heart, through and through. He values honor in a fight and standing up for what's right. He doesn't like a bully and he will harshly punish those who are such. Outside of combat and the like, he's a largely quiet individual who isn't opposed to friendly conversation and he can be quite warm in personality, just as he is in body. Anything he didn't learn from an early age with his tribe... he's largely taught himself while he's been out on his own.
Overall, though he's quite tough and strong, he's a soft-hearted individual who knows the value of being kind to others and valuing life. He isn't afraid to kill though if threatened.
He is capable of evolving to his final form, but he's opted to remain as he is: a Quilava. Pictured alongside him though are what he would look like as a Typhlosion in either form.
Calcifer's been trained and honed his skill as a warrior from a very young age. Formulative years like that forced Calcifer to grow up quickly and he doesn't know much else from his time with his tribe. But eventually, Calcifer came to see what his tribe did around the volcano they lived near... and he decided he could not tolerate their will to invade, take over, and repress everyone around them. It was true that life around that volcano was harsh and many would vie for territory. Nonetheless, Calcifer felt that his tribe went beyond what was required to survive and saw them subjugating even those who were no threat to the tribe's prosperity.
Unable to tolerate this, yet being unable to change it, as he was just one individual in a group of many... Calcifer fought his way free of his tribe and exiled himself from them and their ways. He still fights off emissaries from that tribe from time to time, looking to prove themselves to the tribe by making an example of him. Calcifer however, was... and still is, among their best warriors. And none who have challenged him have returned to the tribe alive.
