Krampus may be next year's idea! Generally holiday comics never go "right" for the characters invovled if you've seen the other ones. This spurred from the idea of Valmont being the Ghost of Future/Ghost of Times Yet/Death and spiraled from there.. I wish we could've polished this one more but my PC died in the midst of making this one..
If we're going with the metaphor of the book's lesson, then his fate is to die, possibly before new years, and have the vast fortune he hoarded over his life stolen as his body is thrown into a cheap grave that the people who hated him while he was alive vandalize. So yeah, he may be laughing at the end of the comic page, but he hardly gets the LAST laugh...
