Once all the games were done the adults made sure everyone was freshly changed (including themselves) before settling down for the night. But even with them fighting off yawns the cub refused to go to bed. They intended to wait up for Santa Paws.
But soon enough they drifted off one by one, their cozy PJ’s and soothing paci’s overcoming their determination and coaxing them to sleep.
Knowing they would easily wake if moved the adults decided to let them sleep on the rug tonight. They began their stealthy mission of placing presents under the tree. More then once their crinkly butts almost woke the cubs, but the closest call was when Snow suddenly rolled over in his sleep – right into Peggy’s path. She just barely missed tripping on the little bear, but the crinkles from her sudden stop sounded quite loud to the adults. In addition the bear had lost his paci during the roll, disturbing his sleep and it seemed like Snow would wake up and catch them.
But the bear didn’t wake. Peggy was able to hand the gifts to Tyler, and then carefully slide the paci back in Snow’s mouth – which had been sucking at the air trying to find it in his sleep.
Once they were sure he would stay asleep they continued their midnight mission.
