I did this just as a relatively small and easy thing, partially as a Telegram sticker for myself, and mostly to celebrate getting started playing Star Citizen last month. Just exploring some new bit of a distant moon while my spaceship (a lovely Origin 315P) soars past in the background.
The unusual development path of the game is justifiably polarising but the beauty of the game and what's starting to become possible in it really impresses me, and the ship designs are fantastic. So I'm having fun.

Thank you! :D I am, uncreatively, 'Doran_Eirok' on there. I've only joined as of the last IAE, and with the upcoming wipe anticipated for the next update I'm not throwing myself into -too- much myself, so I've mostly been taking things pretty slowly and gently, learning my way around and exploring the cities and trying a few courier missions to get familiar with things. But I've got a few good friends and an organisation I've joined that have all been really helpful at answering my unending string of silly newbie questions. X3
Thanks for your kind words on the art, too! ^^

Yeah, from what I understand that can certainly be an issue, although on the other side of that, I've had hardly any issues with crashing or loading myself, it's been remarkably well-behaved... and the free flights are when there are by far the most people on the servers, with all the people coming in to try it out, that it strains things and gives it the worst performance. That said, the free flight is when you really want to show off the game to potential new people so yeah, you want things to be running reliably!
As usual, your boots look so comfy. :) And I hope your ship is on auto, to come pick you up? cx
I know nothing about Star Citizen, but I know exactly all about when you get that comfortable spacefaring game, where everything plays just right, and you feel like you have a galaxy's worth of room to sprawl in and explore at your own pace.. |3

*giggle* Yeah after I drew this I had that thought, like 'wait does this mean somebody is stealing my ship in the background...?' XD Maybe just a friend taking it for a quick spin in the background to help make the cool photo.
Star Citizen is a super-expansive space sim with a lot of different career types you can take up and different things to do, really awesome and diverse cities to explore, you can land anywhere you want on any of the planets and moons in game (apart from the gas giant but even that's got a floating city in the clouds) and a huge range of different ships and ship types. But the weird thing about it is that it's still in development, currently in pre-alpha. So rather than 'paying to buy the game' you pledge to support the game and in exchange gain access to play, have a ship, and help test things as the game develops. It's at a point now where there are enough features that there basically is a full game's worth of stuff that you can do, either solo or with friends, with more constantly being added, but you have to accept that there are also bugs and glitches, and some holes and placeholders where more complete features will come later. Like there's no tutorial and a really steep learning curve, so you do best to have a few friends who understand what's going on and who can support you and help you find your way.
It's definitely a funny way of doing things, and it's understandably off-putting to a lot of people who would rather just buy a finished game, but it's also neat being part of this already really rich world and watching it develop more and more and do all kinds of things that no game before has been able to do in terms of richness and detail. Even for me it's not the sort of thing I would've usually gone for but a few really good friends (and some really great spaceship designs...) were able to convince me to give it a go. ^..^ Bother me on Telegram if you want me to spam you with screenshots or anything sometime. XD
