A while ago I posted an addendum to one of my usual sketches linking Steve Zapata's video on the argument against the (actual) use of AI. At that moment the situation, from what Steve was saying in the video, felt a bit bleak. But a lot has moved since than, and there a number of initiatives that are aimed to create the legislative tools to have a more ethical use of AI. So I would like to offer here a few important links:

For European regulation:

Along with these initiatives come a slew of information about this very complex and very actual topic: I found a lot of stuff worth listening and reading.

Truth to be told is not likely that all related regulations and activities will be stopped until copyright law is fixed, so we are forced to work with what we have. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try to fix what’s broken at the same time, of course.
To be honest, I wouldn’t rush toward any goal without a plan. In my experience the more you rush the worse is the result. Moreover it would be cool if AI could do the hard and dangerous jobs instead of painting or singing and I’m sure we’ll get there, eventually, but for now it seems that the jobs it aims to supplant are not the ones it would be the most useful for.
