As you may have noticed, for a moment I became a little less productive, art wise. As miserable as I felt about not actually being able to produce much, it was for good reason, at least.
On Friday the 9th of December, we were told my paternal grandmother was declining swiftly, and that we had to be prepared for the fact she likely wouldn't be among us much longer.
It's been a very emotional time since then, and last Wednesday morning she finally passed away.
I started this piece somewhere that Friday, as a way to help myself process what was going on. My grandmother always loved wildflowers, marguerites and cornflowers especially, so painting a little meadow full of wild flowers helped me cope at least a little.
You'll be dearly missed, grandma.
