Commission for the amazing
AshTheOrca !
One of the most fun pieces I've worked on, and I'm really loving background work, especially foliage.
Thank you so much for commissioning me!

There, a brighter splash of green than the rest of the rainforest foliage! Driftwood hurried forward, following the oddly worn path closer. As the thick leafs cleared, he could definitely make out the form of the chunky RainWing doctor sitting at the base of a small tree... Facing it, looking into it's branches as if looking for something. Driftwood slowed his approach, then stopped completely upon hearing Lychee speak.
"Where do I start? It's been such a crazy few weeks! You're never going to believe this, but I'm friends with a SeaWing *prince* now. Crazy, right? You would have loved him, he's so relaxed and funny, but he's also brave when he wants to be and... and, well, he's great. I feel like you two would have been great friends."
Who was Lychee talking to? Driftwood scanned the thin branches above the RainWing but couldn't make out the form of another dragon, no sloths or other animals... Lychee shifted and looked back into the trees, and Driftwood couldn't help but reflexively duck, wings pinned to tie back, chin touching the moist earth. It was more habit than a genuine attempt at stealth; he and his brothers often tried to hide and shy away any time a prince or two were needed as set pieces for some royal function.
For some reason, he felt the same sense of gravity and importance from Lychee.
"Cocoa got permission to expand the groves and gardens, and with the new plants I've been cataloguing she's going to need all the extra space she can get. They're so productive even Queen Glory likes to wander through them and pick fruit! You can--... You..."
It was as if the tree had sucked all the excitement out of Lychee's body. The RainWing leaned forward, resting his head against the trunk of the small tree. Driftwood perked back up and tried to quietly move forward to keep an eye on his friend-- and was imediately hit with a pang of guilt, seeing the green drake quietly sobbing.
"I miss you so, so much, Canopy. I wish I could have shown you all of these amazing things. I wish you were still here."
