Wolf's first pokemon and his first love, Lucky fell in love with her trainer during the semi finals of the Kanto league when he leapt in front of a hyper beam that would have killed her. She kept her feelings bottled for the entire journey through Johto and only revealed her feelings early in their time in Sinnoh.

Lucky is happy to share Wolf with the other girls on the team and even other pokemon girls, even though she refuses to take the same liberty for herself. Of late she has allowed Wolf's friend Flannery to share as well, the Lavaridge gym leader and long time friend of her trainer also having had feelings of love for Wolf. Now Flannery presents the world with a girlfriend for Wolf, allowing him and Lucky to keep their own relationship a secret.
