Figured I do something like this for 2010, since I've been more or less productive. Nearly forgot about it, too.
January
This is an ink for my rabbit character, Lania's, first reference. I still used a mouse to do linework at this point, and looking back... wow. Even so, I kinda' want to go back and see if I can still do it.
February
This is around the time when I was moving back into shaded work, rather than just faded flat color. I used a mouse for everything here, too.
March
I started playing around with Paint Tool SAI around this time, doodling one of Chevi's characters for practice.
April
Around this time, I started using Paint Tool SAI for everything I did, starting with a drawing of Lania for Easter. I'd like to think I started getting better at shading, but... I still think I'm pretty bad at that.
May - July
I started coloring my inks during this time, and I've never gone back to solid black lines. Sadly, I think that's the only thing I did differently for a while, though I did start drawing more human characters.
August
Right before I went to college, I started fiddling with a crayon-like style, doing a gift for my darling Cadmium as practice. While I loved the end result, I more or less lost interest in the style after I realized it only really worked in low resolution (and I hate working in low resolution).
September - November
Works during this time were few and far between because of school, though I did take the time to try new effects such as glows, gradients and such. I'm particularly proud of the snowy image of Drossie, and the holiday card-like feel it has.
December
Finals and general laziness kept me from finishing too much this month, but I did break my comfort zone a bit and tackled a lineless style. The Christmas drawing I did of Jinny is one of the ones I am most proud of, I believe, and I am disappointed that I haven't been able to achieve the same quality as it in further works. Maybe in 2011!
