"Worker" is a broad category of Norskians as most Norskians work either as miners, farmers, factory workers, or work in businesses. Workers can be anything from some poor miner down in the depths of a coal mine to a office worker in a building sorting emails and going through business legislation with clients. The model above is an example of a factory worker Norskian, a man who spends a good portion of his 5 day work week in a foundry where parts are set on conveyor belts and each person along the line works to put another part on until they get a finished product. The workers make up pretty much the entire population of Norskia as every able bodied person is required to work, and if they cant find a job they like then the government will choose one for them based off the skills of said individual. If said individual does not have much useful skills they are taught some on the job site. Due to the widespread use of prosthetics due to the large amputation rate (mostly due to frostbite killing parts of the body) even the crippled work, given a prosthetic to replace missing limbs.
The only people exempt from working are the old (70 and above), the young (anyone under 16), the hospitalized (cant get out of bed to work), and the dead (not alive, so cant work). Though many older keep continue to work one way or another, trying to help out how they can. Due to the harsh nature of Norskia everyone has to pull their weight and laziness is heavily frowned upon, and those who refuse to work are sentenced to stays in holding cells until they change their minds. While harsh, the planet is a harsh place and not only do the idle die from being unprepared for the endless winter, but the cities themselves are put at risk for everyone one of their people unable to work.
That said most Norskians work fairly normal shifts, between 5 to 10 hours on average. Though in times of emergency shifts can legally be extended to 14 hours of work or even 24 hours straight of work, though compensation in both food and currency is required to be paid to the workers forced to do this extra labor
