Leona is Bradley's adopted sister. She's actually his niece, but her birth parents gave her away for adoption as they didn't have the means to take care of her. Luckily she could stay within the family, and thus became Bradley's little sister. Nonetheless, the two siblings loved and supported each other as if they were always meant to be together as family. He didn't mind her being a hand-taur, a rare condition in their world, in fact, the two of them have spent a lot of time together doing her nail polish of her large hand.
It was only at school where she found out about the superstitions regarding hand-taurs. People believe that hand-taurs bring luck with them: right-hand-taurs would bring good luck. However, she's a left-hand-taur, an omen of bad luck. Many of her classmates would avoid her, only a few who didn't believe in these superstitious stories, would become her friends. Despite that, she always spends a lot of attention on her appearance, and you rarely would see her without make-up, polish or jewelery. She also likes long dresses, which help her cover her condition. For sports she prefers to wear a glove around her lower hand instead.
Leona was never good at the natural sciences. She's a person who relies more on her feeling and intuition, and would rather learn a trade. She found one in the field of hair and fur care. She is a junior fur-dresser in the local fur-salon. She often has conversations with her customers, and past the surprised looks at first, they don't seem to mind her appearance that much. She likes going out with her friends, and always puts on her prettiest dresses when doing so. During these evening they often go dancing in one of the classy jazz bars in town, where she's earned the nickname The Finger Twister. It's one of the few locations where she doesn't feel unsure of herself. She hopes to find the love of her life in one of these bars someday...

I like the quirky nature of handtaurs, but I'm still bad at drawing hands. A bit challenging when you make a character that's 50% hand...
