Part of ascension and the donning of Eronsilius' mask is that which he is required to do -- to protect and to destroy. When one wears his mask, the infusion of his power will give them many things that they desire, for hopefully the same purpose that he is aiming to achieve... And should they accept his contract, they will also inherit his other powers when the world communes with him that it needs it more. Hato protected his village, and fought off the onslaught, but now Eronsilius beckons him to fulfill his end of their agreement. Another pair of arms grows from within him as the power of darkness Eron holds fills his maw with fire and his eyes with blood -- a need to seek vengeance, to desecrate his beliefs and ruin their attackers. Though he would not usually indulge these thoughts, he promises to keep his word, and feels the strength of a god fueling him. It is for the greater good of his people, after all.
