There’s more than just the athletes when it comes to competitive sports. It takes lighting technicians, sound technicians, pyrotechnic operators, janitors, referees, concession stand workers and countless other employees to make the viewing experience an enjoyable one! That’s why instead of putting the spotlight on a new fighter, I figured I should showcase a duo who is rarely given their dues. On the left-hand side, we have Tony Duffy and on the right, we have George Moosefari! Two titans of the mic who regularly offer commentary during matches and interview various wrestlers, boxers, karate experts and heavyweight champions.
Tony Duffy is a former wrestler in his own right who had been dominating the ring for a good thirteen years. However, tragedy struck when one of his legs was mangled during a particularly intense cage match. This injury ended up costing him his entire career as a professional athlete. Gaining a bit of a pudge and saddened over losing his job through no fault of his own, the crippled cougar ended up trading in his spandex for a microphone and became an official commentator. That way, he can still be part of the industry he’s grown to love. Make no mistake though, Tony is willing to ignore doctor’s orders and occasionally step back into the ring if you really tick him off! Powered by a energetic personality, this feline is always ready to watch an exciting match play out in front of him.
Meanwhile, George Moosefari is something else entirely. With a stuffy personality, an eye for exquisite fashion and a deep, monotone voice, you’d think this oversized intellectual would be a professor at some prestigious university. Instead, this old moose loves the world of fisticuffs and bravado. He loves this environment so much, he’s practically turned his brain into an encyclopedia filled to the brim with holds, techniques and combatants from every single year in documented history. If you asked him to tell you about a particular match that happened in 1901 in Boston, Massachusetts, he’ll give you a overly detailed play-by-play. It’s not uncommon to hear him give long-winded monologues while he’s supposed to be commentating on the match that’s playing in front of him.
With such wildly different personalities, you’d think these guys would hate each-other with a burning passion but no. These two have been longtime friends and work together amazingly well. Notably, Tony is one of the very few people who George refers to by his first name instead of addressing him as “Mister Duffy” or something like that. Armed with a pair of microphones and the best chairs an arena venue can offer, these inseparable co-hosts are ready to offer colourful commentary on any kind of fight!
Heyo. Been a bit since I introduced some new characters. Of course, if you’ve ever read my overly-long/amateurish uploads, you’d know I referenced these two multiple times in the description. Particularly, you can read their commentary during any of my “Super Ultra Fighting Gathering Deluxe Tournament” uploads. It’s nice getting official art of these guys after referencing them so many times. I don’t know how much art I’ll get of them in the future considering that they’re mostly on the sidelines but hey, I’m excited at how good this piece turned out!
UniBro did the art on this and even included their OC, Pi in the piece. Can you spot him? Also go pay them money to draw more snazzy suits!
