A close up of the face of the "water clock" located at Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge, TN. For those of you with high quailty monitors the plaque on the right gives the jist of the info on this thing.

It's quite a smart little set-up for how simple it is. The water wheel feed from the parks trough system is kept at a constant speed by a ball governer which in turn spins a series of ratio gears via several chain drives. I watched several times during the day I was there and it does keep time!

The hour and the month are correct anyway. I suspect the day was off becuase it hasn't been adjusted for leap years and the year dial of course only goes up to 1887.
