Today’s the 3rd anniversary of me working at UPS, putting me in the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, so here’s an affectionate parody of the union’s logo to celebrate, with ferrets in place of the draft horses. Earlier this year I bought and started playing Tooth and Tail, an RTS resource management game and war sim featuring anthropomorphic animal; one of the units is a mortar-lugging ferret called the Freight Union, hence part of the rename. I changed International to L’Internationale to reference that great union hymn and totally not because I messed up the spacing of between the A and the L.
As for the colors:
Blue and yellow for the union’s colors and to reference the blue Longcoats and the yellow Civilized in T&T.
Yellow and Brown for UPS’s colors.
Red because it’s my favorite color and to reference the Commonfolk in T&T (Hopper is forever my girl).
Black for the deceased brethren in UPS. I started working at UPS just five days after the Miramar shootout. Let’s face it; Frank Ordonez was killed by police incompetence.
And green to reference the KSR in T&T so they don’t feel left out.

And we’re just halfway through peak! Just two more weeks until Christmas and I can stop wanting to concuss myself on every sturdy and semi-sturdy thing I see at work!

And to cap things off, a word of encouragement to my fellows in the rail unions: do the strike. Biden and Congress screwed you guys on this; just do it anyway. You guys do so much for so little; you don’t just deserve but need those sick days. I wish you all a very merry and very illegal strike; you don’t get anything done following rules, especially when those rules are intended to protect power.
