With the weather getting colder, beloved math teacher Virginia Bubo changes up her wardrobe. She begins wearing sweaters and leggings instead of button shirts and skirts.
Her hormonal students debate the very important topic of whether Miss Bubo's warm or cold weather outfits are better. In terms of flattering her fetching figure but also in terms of her frequent brushes with accidental disrobing.
The debate will surely rage even after the weather changes yet again but the pro-sweater crowd gets some strong talking points when Virginia's new sweater snags on a hook.
The poor owl doesn't notice the slight tug as the tangle pulls more and more thread loose as she walks around. Nor does she notice the unraveling of her garment until her midriff has been exposed.
"Oh no!" Virginia declares. Her fellow teacher Miss March had knit this for her! Virginia tries to pull the tangle loose but only succeeds in unraveling her sweater more.
Her class, which had been watching the shrinking sweater much more than they'd been paying attention to her lesson, act as if they've only noticed the snag when their teacher did.
The students shout conflicting advice to their teacher about what to do. This just confuses the poor owl and she turns this way and that and tries to heed all the advice. And the sweater unravels more and more.
By the time the commotion brought Evaline Churchell with scissors to snip the offending thread, Miss Bubo's sweater had already diminished to sleeves and collar to the joy of her students. Thankfully for the embarrassed owl, Evaline also brought her friend a backup sweater!
