It used to better in the past. When you had no worries, no responsibilities. Friends, family. Even if those friends and family were damaged, they still loved you. They still cared about you. But they are not here anymore. You were never that social either. Friends were already hard to find. You were bullied at school and didn't fight back. You were going to be your own best friend. It all stays bottled in. Though your family was decent, there were some periods of abuse that traumatize you. You ran away from the abuse whenever it happened. The parents arguing. But now, you wish you could hear these arguments just to remind yourself that someone is there. Or someone, anyone, who could feel your pain. Someone who could save you from yourself. Society is not to blame for anything. You might be. You stand in your own way. You are your greatest enemy. Loneliness, the very thing you love that kills you. Silence was never so beautiful yet so destructive.
August copes with his depression, anxiety, and loneliness with music. He would call his band Fog, although it's not much a band since he's the only member. Dedicated to August: a playlist of low fidelity, melancholic, depressing, noisy, and dreamy songs to lie on the floor or cry to.

The only way one can truly enjoy the light is to experience the dark. If we never had trials and tribulations, then paradise would simply be a place on the map.
It doesn’t keep it from sucking, but it’s no less true. The best we can do in times of dark is to remind ourselves that the light is warm and bright and just like the sun, it will rise again.
Hang in there, as Winnie the Pooh once said, “You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think”.
