Original gremlin-Alan has some unique charm, to be sure!

Buuut... I gotta hand it to new Alan's design! The desaturated colours and smaller, friendlier frame just make you wanna pick him up and squeeze him :D

I think new Alan would appreciate a good squeeze.

Both have a unique charm to them. I like prankster/tricky characters, but old Alan was indeed a jerk. I also do really like how new Alan is more chilled out and his magic causing problems through unintended effects or just something going haywire rather than it being completely on purpose does make a clear distinction between the two.

It's more fun righting a character that tries to fix problem he causes, than taking pleasure in those problems.

New Alan is way~ better hands down. He's loveable and sweet and mostly considerate. He understands people and helps them as best he can. =3

I'd say that: He might not have progressed much in terms of magics, but as a person Alan has progressed by leaps and bounds! 🥰👍❤️

Also: Wait a sec. 🤔 Current Alan's magic works on past jerk Alan? O.o
Kinda makes me wonder what the in-universe reason was that Alan changed. 🤔 And what the in-universe reason was why his magic is sometimes having trouble working properly. 🤔
Is Alan still an Imp? Or is he full on Kobold now? 🤔 Maybe that could be the reason? That because he let go kf his jerk Imp persona, he became more Kobold and thus has to use a different kind of magic and that's why he has trouble? 🤔
(Just thinking out loud here. xD I just LOVE current Alan. And I love the not-so-helpful-but-trying-to-be-helpful spell to help BLK with his diet in the last page. 🥰👍❤️ BLK always is a beaut when big and fatter than nkrmal. 😉👌❤️)

The specific trick here is I originally said Alan's magic didn't work on him, but currently no magic works on him (and I do have a good reason, I swear), thus old Alan would be susceptible to someone else. As for what Alan is, he's 100% a kobold, thought not one that feels any need to be subservient to a dragon, though he does is part of the household chores.

What is that reason than? I mean: Sounds rather sad to have Alan not be able to be affected by any kind of magic from anyone. I mean: Isn't his dream to be able to make himself taller and all? 🤔 Or did his dream change into something else? 😄

And I see, he's always been 100% kobold? 🤔 Or is his current self 100% kobold, but his 2016 self something else? 🤔
I ask that, because you used to call Alan an Imp in old stories after all. 🤔

And yeah, he definitely doesn't seem subservient to BLK. He's just doing the household chores because he is a good roommate & friend. 😃👍
