This is a topaz crystal from Topaz Mountain in Juab County, Utah. This mountain has been known for producing spectacular topaz since the late 1800's. Topaz Mountain is an 8 million year old "Rhyolite Dome" volcano.

Very nice find! It's interesting that something as violent as a volcano can produce beauty in the form of the Topaz. I do think that the granite in the rhyolite makes it stand out a little more
