An extension of a certain PSR story where Lyra nearly looses her bag of semi-precious gems. Where does she get them? She doesn't buy them, that's certain!
No, she goes digging for them. A member of a rock club, a geology study group that takes infrequent trips to various mines to dig for gemstones. Sometimes the various members find some of good enough quality to sell to jewlers or to make their own jewlery. Its one way to make money, and Lyra enjoys it quite a bit since its a retreat from her twin brother.
On this day however it looks like she found much more than just a couple of emeralds. It appears that she has uncovered a Fire Plate and there's still more around her waiting to be uncovered.
