OK - this is a pun for the German speaking audience...
For those not in the know: "Pantoffeltierchen" is the German name for http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paramecium - and the literal translation would be "slipper animal" where "tierchen" is the cute form of animal... So... :)
