Nature is cruel. Winter is deadly. One adult male dragon is looking for something to eat, because he hasn't eaten for quite a while. He finds a fresh trail of blood among the bushes. Specifically, this dragon does not have wings because other dragons tore them off in childhood. There are a lot of scars on his skin. If other members of his species can just fly away, he has to fight or run. It's amazing that he was able to live to adulthood at all.
