Mipp and fellows
This is a very, very, very old sketch which in a moment of unusual enlightenment I dug out of somewhere and drew into my very first color pencil drawing as a birthday present for a friend of mine.
Long ago she had those few birds she loved very much - few Bengalese finches and one zebra finch, male, with a very strong character.... and voice. I drew this one sketch in my "sketchy" period as a funny and fantasy interpretation of their avian relationships. Just a few days before my friend's birthday I recalled how much she loved it.
Now, there ain't no particular story about those finch gryphons, although I did have in mind something while color drawing it. Later everyone was making their own stories, which I very much enjoyed. So you're free to do the same.
Faber-Castell color pencils + 2B, 4B for the statue. A4.
No references. I tried to keep as close as possible to the original birds' features though.
P.S. Happy birthday, Ani.
