Unbiased media, my ass!
Believe it or not, this particular piece does NOT take any sort of solid political stand, whether Left or Right. Instead, it is a rather cynical observation that the days of true, unbiased media are LONG behind us now. Instead, so-called "Mainstream Media" has all-too-often become little more than official Party Organs for whatever Left or Right party they choose to support.
"News", these days has become "Info-Tainment" and/or out-and-out Propaganda.
What I find even MORE frustrating is that every time I run across someone, who hotly denies this particular contention, without fail, the 'alternative', supposedly 'unbiased' media they will direct me to to 'disprove' this contention will, without fail, turn out to be just as biased, if not more so than all the others, even if they are perhaps a little more subtle about it.
Three particular quotes are also used in here, both earnestly AND ironically, depending upon how one chooses to read the piece. The first of these is: "The issue is never the issue. The issue is always the revolution," which is a quote that was originally attributed to the leftist group "Students For a Democratic Society" (SDS), back in the 1960s.
The second quote I have referenced: "Never argue with a man, who buys ink by the barrel," was attributed to William Randolph Hearst, and sometimes called "Hearst's Law" in his honour.
The third quote: "The scoops are on their way!" comes from the 1973 dystopian Sci-Fi film Soylent Green.
