Patreon Activity – November 2022
Another super tough month
November was yet another very tough, grueling work month. And unfortunately set the stage for December to be much the same. But I do hope to have two low workdays for the month on my birthday Dec. 4 and Christmas.
If that plays out, it will mean I would have worked this entire year, every single day with no true days off. I never would have thought in January when I first made the decision to try and buy my mom’s building that it would consume my life, especially for the last 5 months. And not just consume my time but also my money.
I did use a gift card I was given to me a few years ago to buy Pokemon Violet but the challenge there is to have time to play. As of this written, I’ve done an extremely good job of avoiding spoilers to the game outside of the obvious boobed Sprigittito final evolution art.
Art: Alternatives
Right at the end of November I finally finished my new product offering of digital alts of pictures, starting with nudes. I have an excellent process set up for doing these and I hope people are interested in having these done!
I’m hoping to commit myself to doing such with the Patreon poll winners. The nature of the alts would vary from character to character: nude, growth, and/or environmental alts.
And yes, I am more than fine in including NSFW naughty girl bits in nude alts if people ask for them in commissions. >w>
Building renovations
My commercial real estate officially drained me of another 60 hours of my time for November; most being time I wasn’t spending doing art. December has a high likelihood of being another heavy month for work on it.
And also very expensive. I need to have a new floor installed which is expected to cost about $5,000.
The likely tenant we’ve had for a few months now is dragging their feet and now we don’t know if they will really carry through with it.
Also, one of the four heating units of the building is no longer working and a strong likelihood to need replacing. When I was in the process of buying the building, this particular unit was pointed out as having significant hail damage and we thought it wasn’t even in use. But now with the cold winter, we are noticeably seeing the back end of the bookstore is chilly unlike past years.
I would like to put this off as the back is not really used, BUT, the hot water heater is back there and I do know if it gets too cold, it can explode. I am left with a tough decision.
This building is bleeding me of money so bad. x-x’ And I have to pray so hard the crippled roof doesn’t fail this winter. We need it to last long enough to make the enormous expense of having it redone in the Spring. That was last quoted to cost $55,000. Yes, 5 digits; well over my annual gross income for the year.
What has gotten done in the 60 hours I’ve put into it? Most notable is all essential rooms are painted. That was a huge undertaking for painting the 12 foot tall walls. I also had an uncle come here with some heavy duty tools for cutting the thick, steel nails driven into the carpet tack strips atop the concrete floor. We wanted to remove those so we could install carpet squares.
We also spent some time making arrangements and buying building supplies to have a room built around the vacant side’s HVAC system that is sitting in the main room exposed.
Nearly at the end
I really, really hope December is the last month of this tough renovation work in the building. I really want to return to doing art full time. >.>’ Art is part of what keeps me sane working these 70-80 hour work weeks month after month. When I’m not doing my passion in art, I get pretty down and depressed.
But until then, make sure to look forward to some festive/winter cheer on my Patreon!
