About Faraday:

Faraday is a rat, obviously. In all ways rats can be rats. She also is a mechanic and somewhat engineer, loves getting her hands and other parts dirty.

Due to a mutation, her body can store a certain amount of electric energy and dispel it on touch. That is also the reason why her fur fell out in chunks, leaving only patches. Faraday decided to decorate the skin since she had no hope of her fur growing back anyway - hence the amount of tattoos. The majority of her right arm was taken away in an accident with a machine. Long story short: it hurt.

She got a replacement, tho. While still adjusting to the new cybernetic limb, she tattooed herself with a bunch of small scribbles to regain the dexterity and precision she once had.
