With an origin still unknown so far, theorized to be some artificial species made long before the oldest records of intelligent life in the galaxy that evolved to a wild and uncontrolled point, the Technofragna virus and its base infector organisms are undoubtedly the greatest threat known so far in known space, being an unstoppable force of destruction capable of affecting both living beings and cybernetic systems to the point of leaving entire planets assimilated with their technoorganic matter spread to their core, and at best a desiccated shell devoid of life and organic matter.
While the Garlesh in their first travels through the galaxy millions of years ago followed with curiosity to investigate planets with characteristics of harboring life, in a cold world with signs of a great flood that ravaged their environment found frozen remains of a technoorganic organism that was clearly not a living being to be composed entirely of metal tissues and a virus stacked in tissue like cells, and later unknowingly ended up unleashing hell for themselves and other species known so far to have discovered the composition of these organisms that returned to "life" thanks to their studies, unleashing what at first seemed to be a deadly degenerative disease that made technoorganic tissue grow through the important organs of its host until it caused serious internal failures causing death in a matter of hours, which then resulted in something impossible until that moment, returning the dead to life devoid of any intelligence or reasoning as the brain or any organ no longer functioned, only with savage instincts to satisfy an insatiable hunger for consuming organic matter and metal, the latter being able to continue spreading the virus that was distributed to circuits and cybernetic systems causing them to take formations similar to those seen in living beings.
Living dead and mutated machines with organic matter began to make their way through the ships and constructions of the Garlesh to then expand using their transports to the other known worlds, and as time went on they developed more physical mutations taking advantage of the mechanisms they assimilated and creating deformities similar to weapons that could be used to infect those who tried to defend themselves, and the more they expanded the more they let their technoorganic tissue composition spread through the places they passed through, expanding as a great pool of intelligent biomass that carried spores and served to give birth to more infection organisms and more evolved forms of the parasites, causing entire planets to fall under the unstoppable infestation of this insatiable menace.
Even with the armament of the Garlesh and other allied species nothing could stop the expansion of the Technofragna, so in a desperate measure they created the Bastion, a colossal construct in space that would become a devastating weapon that was expected to eradicate them completely from known space at the genetic level after its activation, This action was carried out at the last minute, sacrificing a large part of the Garlesh homeworld in the process and apparently killing the parasite throughout the galaxy, without knowing that some of the infector organisms managed to save themselves from the great wave of elimination by sheltering in the same secure facilities that the Garlesh and other species abandoned in their desperation, remaining locked up for generations in a state of "hibernation", ready to return to feed and expand one day.
Their life cycle begins microscopically, and when they get enough organic matter they form a kind of spores that upon contact and proximity to other living beings deploy their virus in liquid form or an orange powder, and when they grow to a size similar to that of a basketball they separate from the ground or surface to which they have clung becoming mobile organisms with tentacles and sharp protrusions, that if they are not able to infect their target by touch, they cling to it to adhere to its tissues or impregnate all their fluid in their body when they explode or break up around them, and although their main target is living beings, when they have sight of machines or forms that are not able to infect their target they cling to it to adhere to its tissues or impregnate all their fluid in its body when they explode or break up around them, when they have in sight machines or artificial metal formations they use the same method of infection to distribute themselves through the circuits and connections of the machines where they begin to form lumps of their technoorganic matter that begin to look like filaments and tissue that turn the machine into their new body to manipulate for their propagation, being able to infect robots, Terragen and advanced vehicles, and once acquired enough matter to adhere large amounts of it to a ground where they form large ramifications or flagella extended to the skies or "Aheri" that become the main collective mind on a planet to continue the expansion in a coordinated and intelligent way.
It was until our times, in the XXI century that archaeologists and Darkmoon mercenaries unintentionally found one of these fortresses on Earth where they released the parasite starting a short infestation in Belize that could be stopped in time with the help of Ra'Kaan and Omega Squadron, parallel to which a primitive species on a planet previously occupied by the Garlesh as a fortress released the Technofragna starting again its expansion throughout the existing world, and in spite of having used the Bastion again after years of conflict being a second threat and the most worrying for all during the war against the Conglomerate before the failed attempt of Shinnok to control the virus, bringing the parasite with it back to Earth being necessary nuclear armament to stop the expansion temporarily. The damage done by its expansion is more than remarkable for its large scale, having been necessary the sacrifice of many to stop it, and even so the peace seems to be merely temporary, as the Technofragna always has a way to survive in the least imagined places.
