When we were kids and watch cartoons, there were scenes where we didn't understand it and just accept it, we even laugh at it if possible, and there's a very good reason why: adult jokes.
Only when you grow up and you know the story of the birds and bees, that's where you'll get those jokes when re-watching those cartoons, even for cartoons that were made for the whole family, cartoonists take the courage to put those jokes there, where only adults would understand it, as long as it doesn't cause any offense or controversy, it's normal have them every once in a while.
And this comic makes a fine example of it, kids won't understanding, but adults will.
