You stumble in the dark maze of hallways, unable to find the right way as you trip. Something falls from the darkness above, spilling across your back and head as you try to scramble up. The liquid is heavy and thick, staining your hair black as you just try to get up. Your vision is dizzy and spinning, and by the time you blink you feel it travel to your head.
Something pushes free from your head, another thing pulling from your face, twitching as you shout in surprise. You can't see the changes to your body in the darkness, but you can feel the second pair of limbs growing out of your sides, and something bulging from your back as your legs change to bend differently. It doesn't hurt somehow, simply feeling warm as you try to sit up.
Your new paws press against the floor, something pushing down your spine as your newly born wings twitch and shudder. The darkness is pushed away little by little, newly sprouted abdomen becoming larger and brighter as you lay there, staring at your new body in this small island of light.
