My, do I have something special to share today haha; it may not look like much, just a pixel art piece - but I'll explain why it's more special in the descritpion, so if you're interested please, keep reading.
Firstly, this is Freilika, most of you know her from my other art, if you don't feel free to check out my other art - here she is in 16 colours giving an iconic (to nerds like me) checkered boing ball an intimate hug.
What makes this piece special, is this was done made using Deluxe Paint III - art software from 1988, originally coming out as just Deluxe Paint in 1985 for the Amiga 1000. This piece was made on (emulated because I sadly don't have the real thing) A500 base specs, so that's just 500kb of RAM, nothing close to the whopping 32GB my current machine has haha.
I've converted the .IFF file the Amiga uses to a PNG and doubled the scaling factor of it, since I don't think anyone is going to properly see a teeny little low res 320x256 16 colour IFF image - all this might sound like tech gibberish but hey it's here for those who know.
But yeah, if you all like this from me feel free to let me know, I might do more Amiga art in the future of my characters and such.
Also if you'd like to see a screenshot of the program with this art and some CRT edits of mine, check out my Twitter post or the image in my FA scraps:

Yeah haha, it took a long time honestly to try figuring out a style of mine I could use that adapts to the limitations, eventually found the above which I'll stick with.
And perhaps! Deluxe Paint III has even animation capabilities so I want to explore that sometime haha.

You just blew my mind. You're adding authenticity to your 80s themed art using 80s paint software. This is amazing! And a fascinating read in the description too.
Also Freilika looks so adorable here, almost like she wants to play fetch hehe
And despite the lack of antialiasing from the low resolution and 16 colours, as demonstrated by the boing ball, you still made the other two boing balls look so smooth and shiny. And with great depth too from the shading and highlights. Impressive skill given the technical limitations of your tools. Hats off to you. This is awesome!

Glad to hear you're amazed, I appreciate the acknowledgement and compliment of it adding authenticity to the theme of my art too haha.
That could be the case, or she could be giving one an example of how one could get cuddled by her by using the boing ball haha.
I'm also glad to hear the other boing balls (cheeky, I approve) here look appealing and with depth haha - I had to redo them once completely since I knew they'd be the center of attention, so it's great to hear they came out well the second time around haha.
