(This is one of the first-place winners of "You Choose 2" where people voted on the theme of this project. The vote ended in a tie, and instead of prolonging the project, I thought that I could just do a project for both...)

Here we have Hybrid caught in quite the predicament, the lizard being petrified into nothing more than a stiff stone sculpture…
Hybrid had not really been one for boating, but he always did seem to come across as arrogant. Once again, Hybrid along with many other individuals, both old and new, rode the bus soaring through the clouds of the sky. Hybrid had not partaken in these events as often as he had in the past, something to do with 'Saving The World' from husk and all that stuff. But for today, Hybrid felt that he could blow off a little steam in some, not so light-hearted, combat…
The doors on the back of the bus swing open revealing the bright blue sky and the windy vacuum that followed. Hybrid was amongst the first to leave the bus, descending to the ground and feeling the pleasant breeze against his scaled chest and wind parting around his tail. It was not long before Hybrid landed on the roof of a nearby cabin and wasted no time breaking into the attic to get his hands on anything that could prove useful. Unfortunately there were no weapons that Hybrid could see, and others were already landing nearby. The sound of gunfire could already be heard echoing to his left accompanied with yelling that originated off to his right. Hybrid was stuck without any effective weapon making him an easy target, it seemed that luck was just not on his side today (and his luck would only get worse)...
Hybrid made for a mad dash towards a distant cabin in hopes of getting out of the effective range of most weapons. He lacked the sufficient resources to build cover so Hybrid felt that running would be his best option, and he couldn't help but clench his jaw in frustration, being denied his double jump was like taking away an extension of his body. But as Hybrid began to tire from dashing, he heard the sound of something cracking just behind him…
Almost immediately, Hybrid froze in his tracks, his legs refusing to move. Filled with confusion, Hybrid glanced down and realized that a major section of his legs and lower torso were encased in a gray rock like material, even his tail felt heavy and had gone partly stiff. As Hybrid attempted to move once again, but realized that the material was spreading quickly around his waist and causing the other parts of his body to slow and stiffen accompanied with the crackling sound of snapping joints and various cracks splitting the stone material whenever Hybrid tried to move. It did not take Hybrid long to realize that he was getting petrified, his scaled body getting encased and turning into stone. Hybrid clenched one of his fist once his fingertips began to feel cold, and his limbs suddenly felt heavy as the stone quickly spread around his wrist and worked its way up his arms. Any effort that Hybrid attempted to move his stone limbs only resulted in only the slightest tremor where certain parts of his petrified body cracked even further and threatened to crumble. The sound of snapping and popping accompanied Hybrid as the tip of his tail, a finger, and even one of claws separated from his petrified body. Wincing, Hybrid grinded his teeth and grunted in discomfort, despite no longer being able to feel any part of his body that had already petrified into stone, it still did not make him feel any better…
As Hybrid's scaled chest began to stiffen and harden into stone, he let out desperate gasps when a major portion of one of his arms snapped off and fell to the ground, crumbling into countless pieces of varying sizes. It was not long before the stone worked its way up Hybrid's neck and began hardening the side of the lizard's face. Hybrid attempted to yell out his final breath, but as his mouth suddenly refused to move, feeling unnaturally dry while accompanied with the splitting and chipping around his snout and maw. As his vision faded, Hybrid realized that his cries were now silent and no amount of his original body remained. Hybrid's senses of perception were absent and all he felt was tired and heavy. No matter how much Hybrid wanted to move, to lay on the ground and rest, not a centimeter of his body obeyed, even the simple act of moving his tongue or blinking seemed like an impossibly distant memory. It did not take Hybrid long to come to terms with the fact that he was now nothing more than a stone statue, unsure if the effects of the petrification were reversible…
A look of desperation was now cemented in stone around Hybrid's petrified face as a few final cracks appeared around his now blank eyes. Despite now being made of stone, the remains of Hybrid's suit and equipment remained unaffected, his shredded clothing gently swaying in the wind rubbing against the lizard's stone scaled hide. Only a few moments pass before a stray bullet nocks away another potion of Hybrid's tail. The sound of conflict still raged on around Hybrid, something that he would now miss out on. To everyone else, Hybrid was just a part of the environment, and a potentially good source of brick building material…
For anyone that is looking for a statue to add to their collection, best have a plan to get what's left of Hybrid out of there. But make sure to handle him with care, his stone body looks to be struggling to hold itself together…
Hope people enjoyed a pleasant Turkey day, if you celebrated, and that this is to everyone's liking…

[Originally, I was going to make a separate project, but I figured that I could include two variations of the project as a little bonus. I made a brief journal on the topic of possibly taking on commissions sometime in the future. I still would like a little more feedback before I decide whether or not commissions are something I want to try my hand at. I've gotten only a handful of responses, but from what it seems, almost all of them are on board and want to support commissions. If you want to know more about this, I highly encourage you to read my journal "Questions About Commissions" https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/10369598/. Any amount of feedback helps greatly, don't hesitate to leave a comment, shout, or send me a note (understand that I won't respond to comments/shouts, but if you send me a note/private message, I will be more likely to respond.)]

I will try to develop a separate story for the alternate version of the project, it is my hope that I won't be retelling the same story...
Have a reasonably pleasant day, and look forward to CHOCOLATE Hybrid in the future…
