"I am not amused, children..."

What is the thing that both Mikia and Zuri fear above anything else? Their mother!

Allow me to introduce you to Malkia Zimbalesi, matriarch of the Zimbalesi family and, as intimated, mother of Mikia of Zuri, as well as 6 other children. A former museum curator she now runs the family estate in Capetown and cares of the family's spiritual needs. In fact, she is very nearly fanatical in her worship of their ancestors. In past times she would have likely been a priestess (or something similar, apologies but I am not certain on the proper terms, so I'm going with what I know), but even the Zimbalesi family has been dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century. She is a very strict lioness, keen on tradition and proper behavior. Needless to say, she and Mikia do NOT see eye-to-eye. Malkia had intended for her firstborn daughter to follow in her footsteps, but it soon became obvious that Mikia had no intention of doing that. It is an ongoing struggle, made worse (from Malkia's point) by the fact that Mikia was able to build her own life and business without the aid of the family. But she has not yet given up hope. With Lyasah, her second daughter, getting pregnant while still in high school and Zuri being a runt, things have not been easy for Malkia. Fortunately Zhanika, her youngest, does share most of her mother's interests (and can in fact sound and act disturbingly like her).

When I found out that Wolfkidd was doing stream-commissions I though hey, my birthday is on Friday, I have to try to get one. And luckly enough, I was chosen. And since I had long desired to see Malkia drawn by Wolf, my choice of subject was obvious. I think he did a fantastic job. That stern look, the annoyed tail-flick... and yet, one can see that despite getting older she is still a gorgeous woman.

So, this is a kind of birthday gift from myself, which is why I am uploading it today. Thanks, me ;) And thanks to Wolf for the amazing work!
