Seem Joseph is fear of bugs that are up close in their personal spaces. Some insects in biology knowledge are morbid after reading them.

He should be fears of hornets or yellow jackets. Butterflies are adorable and nice bugs that don't harm others. Only pollinate at flowers

Believe or not, I have a real phobia of wasp (and, of course, hornets) and feel quite uncomfortable with insects (including inoffensive flies and moths). Strangely, I am currently less afraid of spiders (I usually let them quiet, except when I found them in my bed: they usually don't survive. I do not share my bed with anybody actually).

To add some element of context concerning Joseph, I created this character -at the same time than Alphonse- in the late 90's, in order to write my own version of the City Rat and the Country Rat. Joseph is more or less the opposite of Alphonse (the complementary of him actually). Joseph is discret, respectful, serious, not especially clever nor erudite yet hard-working - whereas Alphonse is provocative, learned, smart as hell and quite lazy (indolent actually). Even if Alphonse is always manipulating his cousin, Joseph would always remain his only trustful friend.

I am aware that this is quite far from the tickle-fetish stuffs most of my watchers are expecting, yet it is actually the way created these characters back then, more than twenty years ago.

Wonder if Alphonse is actually Dr Jekyl and Mr hyde?

I faut vraiment que je regarde cette série un bonne fois pour toute (et pas uniquement l'épisode 7 de la saison 1 avec les papillons carnivores… que je n'ai pas vue d'ailleurs). ^^

Faut croire que tu es né un poil trop tard : dans les années 1970, c'était une série diffusée assez régulièrement à la télévision... En particulier le mercredi ou le samedi après-midi.
Dommage aussi que cette série n'ait jamais été jusqu'au bout... Pour ce que j'ai appris, il était prévu que David Vincent parvienne par convaincre pas mal de gens de l'existence de l'invasion extra-terrestre. Et finalement, ils mettaient définitivement en échec les Envahisseurs....
Mais les producteurs ont jeté l'éponge avant ça....

Je crois me rappeler que la série était rediffusée régulièrement, dans les années 90, sur M6 le week-end (tout comme les Chapeau Melon et Bottes de Cuire dont je ne ratais aucun épisode pour le coup). Ceci dit, c'est vrais qu'il y a longtemps que je n'ai plus vu Les Envahisseurs à la télé... Une vingtaine d'années, sans doute !
