So lore time, as to why the vape seen here is red, here's a secret. It's not red.
The red vape is an illusion cast by Paws. The vape to others' eyes is white. Have you heard of the phrase "I see red" when they're angry and or in a negitive emotion? It's the same concept applied here. The "red mist" as he calls it, represents his suppressed negative emotions. Once he sees white, this means his stress, or other negative emotion that he might be feeling that day, would cease. So this is what he sees when he's reached a limit. Red. Because it's what he manifests.
